Networking or Netweaving? - That is the question
Can you imagine the excitement of finding someone in the world that thinks like you, has the same passion of connecting like you, and believes in the Pay It Forward aspect of giving as you? This has been the excitement I have felt for the past week.
Let’s go through the connections to how I got here. Dean Klassman of Klassman Financial (847-454-0660) and I met after several years of hearing about each other. We finally met face-to-face last year. Dean immediately referred me to The Malnati Corporation where I gave a speech on networking skills. Dean proved to be a true giver. I volunteered to help with his Buddy Baseball through Keshet and it was such a rewarding experience that I will be a buddy again this season.
I have joined Dean’s networking group that meets once a month. In January, Dean brought up Jeffery Gitomer’s books, “Jeffrey Gitomer’s Little Black Book of Connections: 6.5 Assets For Networking Your Way to RICH Relationships” and “Jeffrey Gitomer’s Little Gold Book of YES! Attitude: How to Find, Build, and Keep a YES! Attitude for a Lifetime of SUCCESS”. I had already devoured both of those books, but it made me happy that Dean and I were on the same wavelength.
In February, Dean brought up the concept of “Netweaving”. This concept was started by Robert “Bob” Littell of Littell Consulting Services and NetWeaving. Quoting from his book, “The Heart and Art of NetWeaving” “This book is all about the “heart” of NetWeaving …. It involves spreading the word to others and recognizing how it impacts not only the way others perceive you, but even more so watching and enjoying the positive energy force that is generated-for yourself and others-by your NetWeaving activities.”
I bought his book and have read it in two days. I am now on my second reading of it and have purchased his first book, “Power NetWeaving“. I should have it by Friday.
It is wonderful when someone comes into your life through someone else. It is wonderful to surround myself with “true” NetWeavers. Dean Klassman, Chad Coe, Dan Felix, Phyllis Custer (847-681-1999) Vickie Rock and Andy Vass.
I highly recommend everyone buy the books I have mentioned. (All the proceeds from Bob Littell’s books go to the Pay It Forward Foundation which you know I am passionate about.) They are going to be a part of my yearly reading. It would be great to hear what everyone thinks about NetWeaving. Have you been doing it before you knew there was a name for it? How can you take it to the next level?
